Help Desk


The Help Desk is located on the ground floor of the Martin Library of the Sciences in Room 037.

Hours are: Monday through Friday, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm

The Help Desk exists to provide direct individual support to the College community by:

  • Telephone : 717.358.4483
  • Electronic Mail:
  • Locally and commercially produced tipsheets and documentation
  • Hands-on workshops and training sessions
  • Software repair and Data Recovery

Hardware problems are immediately referred to the Computer Store, and placed in the store's queue. You will receive a phone call when your computer is ready to be picked up. Feel free to give us a call or send an email if you have any problems or questions.

Help the Help Desk!

If you need to call the Help Desk, it will expedite your call if you have the following information readily available:

  • Your username.
  • The model of computer you use (e.g., iMac, iBook,etc.).
  • The processor of the computer (e.g., PowerPC G4, or Intel Core Duo).**
  • What operating system you are running (OS X, Windows XP).**
  • The application you are using (Word, Excel, Apple Mail, Webmail).
  • Any displayed error messages.

** Macintosh users: Go to the Apple menu and select About this Mac.

** Windows XP users: right click on My Computer, and from the contextual menu, select Properties.
