Before installing Microsoft Office 2004, please make sure your computer complies with the minimum system configuration.

System Requirements for Installation:
- Operating System OS X version 10.2.8 or above
- Mac OS X-compatible processor that is a model G3 or higher
- Memory: 256MB of RAM
- 610 MB of hard-disk storage space (Extended HFS+ format)
- Display: Monitor that can display 1024 x 768 or higher resolution displaying thousands of colors.
The installation includes Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, the associated help files, the Equation Editor, the Foreign Language Components, and a basic complement of Clip Art.
To install Microsoft Office 2004, log onto the Software Server using your web browser. Authentication for the Software Server requires your short username and unified password, the same as your email. (The short name format is the first initial and a maximum of seven letters of the last name.)

<-- On your hard drive or Desktop, locate the downloaded MACOFFICE04.DMG file.Depending on which browser you are using, the volume may already be mounted. If not, double-click the .dmg file to mount.
Then double-click the mounted OFFICE icon to open its window. -->
Double-click your hard drive icon to open a second window, then click on APPLICATIONS.
Drag and drop the MICROSOFT OFFICE 2004 icon from the OFFICE volume window to the APPLCATIONS window.
A copying progress window appears.
Once the Microsoft Office 2004 application is copied to the appropriate folder locate the MACOFFICE04.dmg file and the OFFICE volume on your desktop and drag both to the Trash.
Microsoft Office 2004 is now located in the Applications folder on your hard drive. Look there to locate and double-click to open the MICROSOFT OFFICE 2004 folder.
You can now launch the Microsoft Office applications by double-clicking their icons. Go to your APPLICATIONS folder, then locate and open the MICROSOFT OFFICE 2004 folder.
Locate and double click the WORD icon to launch the application.
The OFFICE SETUP ASSISTANT automatically launches and presents you with a status window informing you that it is installing fonts onto your hard disk.
The Microsoft Word 2004 splash screen appears and the application opens to the Project Gallery.
Once you have Office 2004 installed on your computer, we recommend that you delete your Microsoft Office X, 2001, or 98 folder(s). However, make sure you check, and move from the folder, any documents that you may have created and want to keep.
Microsoft provides a REMOVE OFFICE utility which is located in the MICORSOFT OFFICE 2004 folder, ADDITIONAL TOOLS folder, REMOVE OFFICE folder.
