In the GO menu, choose CONNECT TO SERVER...
Type the name of the desired F&M server in the ADDRESS bar. The most common example is edisk.fandm.edu.
Next, click the CONNECT button.
The CONNECT TO THE FILE SERVER AS: window appears. Here you choose between GUEST and REGISTERED USER access. Use REGISTERED USER access for the eDisk.
Registered User Access
To log on as a Registered User, click once on the REGISTERED USER radio button, type your username and password in the appropriate boxes and then click once on the CONNECT button.
NB: If you are connecting to eDisk, use your SHORT username and UNIFIED password. Otherwise, use your SERVER username and password.
The next window appears and lists all the different volumes that are available on that particular server. For example, the eDisk server displays a volume for your personal eDisk folder, as well as a volume for the entire eDisk directory.
The server then mounts on your desktop. Double-click to open the window (if it is not already open).
When you are finished with any server, you should disconnect from the server. To do so, drag the servers' icon to the TRASH can.
The next time you want to go to the same server, you can easily do so by using a new feature of OS X. The CONNECT TO SERVER window has a drop down menu at the top of the window which lists the various servers to which you have connected. You will simply need to select the desired server from the list, and click once on the CONNECT button.
Note about the software server: This feature is no longer supported as a "Connect to Server..." option. Instead, access your software updates via the web at this address: software.fandm.edu.
