Microsoft PowerPoint 2004 QuickStart

To launch PowerPoint, from the desktop open your hard drive folder. In your hard drive folder, locate the APPLICATIONS folder and double-click to open.
If you are using Mac OS 10.3.X, from the left SIDEBAR, select APPLICATIONS.

In the APPLICATIONS folder, locate and double-clickto open the MS OFFICE 2004 folder.

Locate and double-click PowerPoint to launch the application.
PowerPoint is a powerful application which enables you to create striking, effective, and energetic presentations. To simplify your first attempt to create a presentation and to help you learn the huge variety of possibilities that you have in developing a presentation, we suggest that you use the AUTOCONTENT WIZARD.

After you launch PowerPoint, the Project Gallery window appears.
In the Project Gallery window, double-click the AUTOCONTENT WIZARD.

The first AUTOCONTENT WIZARD dialog window appears explaining the wizard's purpose.
Select your presentation's CATEGORY from the drop-down box.
Notice when you make a selection in the Category area, a PREVIEW is displayed in the lower portion of the window.
Once you have selected the desired type of presentation, click once on the NEXT button.

The AutoContent Wizard's second dialog box appears.
First select which type of output you want to use.
Next, indicate whether or not you will print your presentation.
After selecting those two options, click once on the NEXT button.
The third dialog box appears.
Enter the information you would like to appear on the first page of your presentation, including the title, the name of the presenter, and any additional information, in the provided text boxes.
You can also choose whether or not to include SLIDE NUMBER and DATE OF LAST UPDATE as footers at the bottom of your slide by clicking on the appropriate checkboxes.
Throughout all of the AutoContent Wizard's windows, you have the option to click on the BACK or NEXT buttons to display the previous or next dialog box.
Once you have all the desired information entered, click once on the FINISH button
Using the options that you selected and the information you entered, the AutoContent Wizard creates and then opens a presentation in PowerPoint's NORMAL view.
